Statement

I am part of a transitional generation. Emigrating as a child, the relationship between identity, culture, and environment has always occupied my mind. Not only as a way of coming to understand my own background, but as part of questioning and articulating the experience of transition, displacement, and the attempt to find one’s dwelling, that is common to many others with an ambiguous relationship to home. It has
been central to my work to put myself in new environments; my work is at home in the attempt to find its place in unfamiliar settings and contexts. This is why my work focuses on memory of place and people. My practice poeticises the impression these memories have left, giving an opportunity to relive an event, revisit a place and awaken a feeling.
